“Whitby Road” is the moving, autobiographical story of a journey from the deepest darkness into the light. With plenty of humor, raw honesty, and gripping suspense, I recount how, as a young mother with a baby, I suddenly found myself homeless on the streets of London—stranded between fear, shame, loneliness, and the agonizing question: What on earth am I going to do now? At a time when every night became a test of survival and every new day was marked by relentless uncertainty, all hope seemed lost. I had no roof over my head, no social safety net to catch me, and no vision of the future for my helpless child.
