The Art of War

It is a basic reference in military studies. Sun Tzu was able to confirm through it that war is a thought and an art, not fighting and blood, and that the ideal leader who deserves his position is the one who knows how to combine firmness of position and steadfastness. The book "The Art of War", one of the most famous Chinese classics ever, has been subjected to great distortion in most of its translations, because it was not translated directly from the Chinese language, but rather was translated through an intermediary language, the most famous of which is the French version completed by Father Jean-Marie Amiot, which is a report translation that resembles a summary, and is not the full text of the book, and most translations, whether English, German or Arabic, have relied on it. The reader can imagine the extent of distortion that has affected the book, in addition to the additions that are not from its original. Therefore, we relied in our edition on the Chinese Military Science Publishing House version, which was translated by a team of specialized Chinese experts, with a high degree of understanding and mastery of the Arabic language, and of course, complete familiarity and knowledge of the Chinese language and culture. These factors contributed to the book coming out as close as possible to the meaning intended by the author, avoiding the deficiencies, omissions and additions that affected other versions, and expressing the message of the House of Wisdom "Connecting the East with the East" in a true and faithful manner. And here we are putting in your hands the book "The Art of War", the essence of ancient Chinese military genius, so that the Arab reader has the right to feel and enjoy the meaning and learn about the philosophy and genius of Sun Tzu and Chinese civilization.
